Rahul Gandhi calls Kamal Nath’s ‘item’ remark ‘inappropriate’, ex-MP CM says ‘won’t apologise’
Bhopal: Senior Congress chief and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath has refused to apologise over his controversial comment through which he had addressed a lady chief – Imarti Devi – as ‘item,’ triggering a extreme backlash from the ruling BJP and the Mayawati-led BSP.
Kamal Nath stated on Tuesday that he has already clarified the context through which he made that assertion. Kamal Nath’s refusal to apologise over the problem got here at the same time as former get together president Rahul Gandhi took word of his remarks and known as it ‘inappropriate’.

Rahul Gandhi, whereas addressing a press briefing in Wayanad this morning, condemned Nath`s remarks saying that he didn’t just like the type of language the previous Chief Minister used.
“Kamal Nath Ji is from my party but personally, I don`t like the type of language that he used…I don`t appreciate it, regardless of who he is. It is unfortunate,” Rahul Gandhi stated.
Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath had referred to Imarti Devi as an “item” at an election assembly within the Dabra (scheduled caste) meeting constituency in Gwalior district, sparking an argument.
“Suresh Raje ji hamare ummeedvar hai…yeh uske jaise nah hai…kya hai uska naam … primary kya uska naam lun? …apko toh mujhe pehle savdhan karna chahiye tha … yeh kya merchandise hai… (Our candidate is just not like her… what`s her title? The former CM was addressing a marketing campaign rally in Dabra for Congress candidate Suresh Raje. Imarti Devi can also be contesting on the BJP ticket from Dabra.
