New Delhi: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has warned of strict towards the individuals who allegedly vandalised the units of Malayalam movie ‘Minnal Murali’ on Sunday. The set, resembling a church, was erected on the banks of river Periyar within the outskirts of Kochi. The alleged miscreants discovered the set to be hurting spiritual sentiments because it was constructed close to a temple.  

In a Facebook publish, the chief of a right-wing group known as AHP, Hari Palode, congratulated a district chief of “Rashtiya Bajrang Dal” for destroying the set raised within the sand mattress of Periyar in Kalady, close to a temple. Expressing anguish over the assault, actor Tovino Thomas, who headlines ‘Minnal Murali’, mentioned that the “contractual set” of movie “was destroyed by a group of “racialists”.

“We have heard of movie sets being vandalised by religious fanatics in northern parts of the country. Now, it’s happening to us right here. It has caused us a lot of distress, and even more of anxiety. We have decided to go ahead with the legal proceedings,” he mentioned.

Tovino additionally tweeted that the group has determined to go forward with a authorized continuing.
