India’s Bajrang, Babita enter World Wrestling Championship

Asian Games and Commonwealth Games silver medallist Bajrang Kumar on Tuesday certified for the 2015 World Wrestling Championship to be held in Las Vegas within the United States from September 7-12 within the 61 kilogram free type class, whereas 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Babita Kumari additionally booked her berth for the championships.
The last trial for the class was performed by the Wrestling Federation of India on the Sports Authority of India (SAI) coaching centre. Kumar defeated Sonu 4-0.
Kumar, who gained the bronze medal within the 2013 World Wrestling Championship mentioned, “I am feeling better now and during the past few days I have worked hard on my back injury. I have already won bronze medal in the World Championship but this time my target will be to win gold and qualify for Rio Olympic Games 2016. We still have a month left for the World Championship and our coaches are working hard in every area.”
Kumari beat Nirmala Devi 6-2 to ebook her berth for the championships within the ladies’s 53 kg class.
