Free media in India: Centre strongly reacts to Chinese mission’s letter to national press

In a hard-hitting response to Chinese mission’s letter to the Indian media to comply with “One China” coverage, the Centre on Thursday stated that there’s free media in India and it stories on points that they see match. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava stated, “Free media in India that reports on issues that they see fit.”

Ahead of Taiwan’s nationwide day on October 10, the Chinese mission in Delhi wrote to Indian media and known as upon them to not check with Taiwan as a “nation”. “Core issues need to be addressed, which includes unimpeded consular access,” stated the MEA spokesperson on Kulbhushan Jadhav.
