Big blow to BJP as this influential leader in Maharashtra quits party, set to join NCP today

MUMBAI: In an enormous setback to thBharatiya Janata Party (BJP) its senior chief in Maharashtra, Eknath Khadse, has give up the saffron occasion which he served for a few years.

Khadse will likely be becoming a member of Nationalist Congress Party, based on an announcement by NCP chief and Maharashtra Minister Jayant Patil.

“Eknath Khadse promoted BJP in Maharashtra over years. I’ve been informed that BJP leader Eknath Khadse has resigned from his party. We’ve decided to give him an entry in NCP. He will be formally inducted into NCP at 2 pm on Friday,” Patil stated, based on new company ANI.

 

 

There had been hypothesis of Khadse quitting the BJP for some time however former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday had dismissed it, saying there are talks day-after-day of such sort of “muhurat”.

As per information company PTI, Khadse was upset ever since he was made to resign as a minister within the then Devendra Fadnavis-led BJP authorities in 2016 on corruption allegations.

Notably, NCP chief Sharad Pawar had on Monday stated that Eknath Khadse, because the chief of the opposition earlier, performed a big function in constructing the BJP in Maharashtra. “He would criticise us and we would take note of it,” Pawar had stated.

“One is bound to feel disturbed if his contributions and hard work are not taken note of. He may think why shouldn’t he shift to a party which appreciates his work,” the NCP chief had added.

All this had triggered speculations about Khadse becoming a member of the NCP in Maharashtra.
