Bengaluru riots: NIA conducts searches at 43 locations including four offices of Social Democratic Party of India

Bengaluru: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has performed searches at 43 places in Bengaluru metropolis together with 4 workplaces of the Social Democratic Party of India which is a political wing of the Popular Front of India (PFI), in reference to the rioting and violent assaults on DJ Halli and KG Halli Police Stations in Bengaluru on August 11, 2020.

The instances pertain to giant scale rioting armed with deadly weapons inflicting accidents to police personnel, destruction of private and non-private property together with DJ Halli and KG Halli police stations buildings and private and non-private automobiles. 

“The riot led to fear and panic in the nearby areas and was intended to cause terror in the society,” stated NIA.

They added that to date, 124 accused have been arrested in DJ Halli PS case and 169 have been held in KG Halli PS case.

“During the searches, incriminating materials relating to SDPI/PFI as well as certain instruments for attacks like a sword, knife, iron rods etc were seized,” stated NIA.

Further investigation is happening in each instances.

The NIA had introduced on September 22 that it has taken over the investigation of the 2 instances.

The giant scale violence occurred when over 1000 individuals gathered in entrance of the home of Congress MLA Naveen Srinivas Murthy (Pulakeshi Nagar constituency) in Kavalbyrasandra whereby the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act had been invoked by the State Police after the incident. 

The mob was protesting towards the derogatory social media (Facebook) submit about Prophet Mohammed made on August 11, 2020, round four pm by the nephew of the MLA allegedly insulting the non secular sentiments of the Muslims. 

The mob had additionally attacked Murthy’s home who stated in an FIR that over Rs 20 lakh gold stolen and property value Rs 50 lakh have been broken. He stated that the mob ransacked the constructing, burnt it and looted the property and jewels.
