Shameful! 21-year-old TB patient raped in ICU of Gurugram hospital
Gurugram: A 21-year-old girl, admitted at Fortis Hospital in Sector-44 on October 21 because of respiratory issues, has alleged sexual assault by a hospital employee when she was unconscious throughout the therapy from October 21 to 27.
The sufferer’s father reported the matter to the police on October 27 when she regained her consciousness and revealed her ordeal to her father. The girl instructed her father that the title of the accused is Vikas. She additionally gave a three-page letter to her father narrating the entire incident in it.
An FIR was registered in reference to the incident at Sushant Lok Police Station on Wednesday. After receiving the grievance, the police rushed to the hospital to take the lady’s assertion, however the docs mentioned that the lady was not in a situation to offer the assertion.
According to information company IANS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (east) Maqsood Ahmad mentioned that the matter is being investigated. The file of the hospital, CCTV footage are being scanned.
“The sufferer is just not in a situation to offer her assertion. The assertion of the sufferer will likely be taken solely after clearance from the docs, he mentioned.
“The case is being investigated. The parents of the woman do not even know whether the accused is an employee of the hospital or not. We are also questioning the hospital management about the incident. The situation will be clear only after the woman gives her statement. Further investigation is on,” the DCP added.
According to the police, the sufferer is a resident of Mahendragarh district and affected by tuberculosis. Due to respiratory issues, she was positioned on a ventilator.
The girl’s father had requested the police to hold out a medical test of his daughter. Meanwhile, the Fortis Hospital has sai that it’s totally cooperating with the police in probing the matter.
