Rs 18,700 crore funds transferred under PM KISAN in past 2 months: FM Sitharaman

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday (May 15) introduced that the third tranche will deal with agriculture, fisheries, dairy, meals processing, and allied actions. Of these 11 measures, eight are associated to infrastructure associated to agriculture and allied actions whereas the remaining three are associated to governance and administrative reforms.

The Finance Minister stated that in lockdown provisions had been made to conclude Rabi crop harvest and a few states have gone forward largely with the procurement course of whereas observing social distancing. Agricultural work was supported throughout the two months of lockdown. 

“India is the largest milk producer, largest jute and pulses producer, 2nd largest in sugar cane, cotton, groundnut, fruits, vegetables and fisheries, 3rd in cereals. The Indian farmer has really endured and made sure that he would give us the highest yield,” she stated.

The FM stated {that a} new scheme has been launched for curiosity subvention @ 2% every year to dairy cooperatives for 2020-21 aimed toward unlocking Rs 5000 crores further liquidity, benefitting 2 crore farmers.

About animal husbandry, she stated that further steps taken throughout COVID-19 lockdown are: 

– During Lockdown, the demand for Milk diminished by 20-25%. 
– 560 Lakh litre per day(LLPD) procured by cooperatives towards the each day sale of 360 LLPD. 
– Total 111 Crore Litres additional procured making certain fee of Rs 4100 Cr. 
–  A brand new scheme to supply curiosity subvention @2% every year to dairy cooperatives for 20-21. 
–  Additional 2% pa curiosity subvention on immediate fee/curiosity servicing. 
– This scheme will unlock 5000 Cr further liquidity, benefitting 2 crore farmers. 

The Finance Minister stated that funds switch price Rs 18,700 crores has been completed beneath PM KISAN previously 2 months and PM Fasal Bima Yojana claims price Rs 6,400 crores launched in previous 2 months.
