Rape case filed against Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay, victim alleges cheating
Mumbai: Mumbai Police have registered a case in opposition to veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay and the previous’s spouse Yogita Bali on a criticism of rape and dishonest filed by a girl, an official stated on Saturday.
The case was registered at Oshiwara police station on Thursday evening based mostly on the criticism lodged by the 38-year- previous lady, he stated.
“The complainant said she was in a relationship with Mahaakshay Chakraborty from 2015 to 2018 and during that period he had promised to marry her,” the official stated.
“The woman said that during their relationship, she had gone to see Mahaakshay’sflat at Adarsh Nagar in Andheri West, which he had purchased in 2015. She said when she went there, the accused offered her a spiked soft drink and forced her to have physical relations with him,” he added.
“The woman alleged that when she became pregnant, Mahaakshay asked her to abort the baby and gave her pills,” he stated.
“The woman said she used to ask Mahaakshay about their marriage. But in January 2018, he told her that he cannot marry her, which led to an altercation between them. She said when she called him, his mother Yogita Bali threatened her,” the official stated.
The complainant later went to Delhi together with her brother to stick with their household pal. There, she lodged a criticism in opposition to Mahaakshay and his mom Yogita Bali at Begumpur police station in June 2018, he added.
The police had registered an offence beneath part 376 (rape), 313 (inflicting miscarriage with out lady’s consent) and others, and the probe was transferred to the crime department there. A Delhi court docket later granted anticipatory bail to Mahaakshay and his mom within the case.
In March 2020, the Delhi High Court had requested the girl to file her criticism within the court docket, the place the offence had taken place. Following that, she filed a criticism at Oshiwara police station in July this yr, the official stated.
“Accordingly, an offence under IPC sections 376 (rape), 376 (2) (n) (repeated rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 417 (cheating), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) has been registered against the accused,” he stated, including {that a} probe is on.
