More than 4,000 coronavirus tests in F1 prove negative
There have been no positive instances from greater than 4,000 coronavirus exams carried out on Formula One personnel over the previous seven days, F1 mentioned on Saturday.
F1 has its first race on Sunday in Austria, 4 months after the opening race in Australia was cancelled and the season postponed.

“The (governing body) FIA and Formula 1 can today confirm that between Friday 26th June and Thursday 2nd July, 4,032 drivers, teams and personnel were tested for COVID-19. Of these, zero people have tested positive,” F1 mentioned in a press release. “No specific details as to teams or individuals will be provided by the FIA or Formula 1 and results will be made public every seven days.”
There is one other race in Austria subsequent weekend and the next race might be held on the Hungaroring in Hungary one week later.
There are eight races happening in Europe. After Hungary, there are back-to-back races on the British GP, then single races in Spain, Belgium and Italy.
FIA president Jean Todt mentioned Saturday that discussions are ongoing with F1 proprietor and rights holder Liberty Media over the remainder of the season. F1 stays hopeful of internet hosting 15-18 of the unique 22 races by rescheduling a number of the postponed ones, with the season ending in December in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.
“More details will be given soon,” Todt mentioned.
