Bollywood News: ‘Ghoomketu’ reminded me of my struggle days in Bollywood, says Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Mumbai: Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui performs a small-town author who’s struggling to get a break in Bollywood in his subsequent “Ghoomketu” and he says the function reminded him of his personal time as an aspiring actor within the movie trade.
A National School of Drama graduate, the actor hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Budhana began working in movies from 1999 in minor roles.
In 2012, the tide turned for him with movies like “Kahaani” and “Gangs of Wasseypur” which put him within the mainstream cinema area.
His credit throughout movies and net embody “Badlapur”, “Kick”, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, “Manto” and “Sacred Games”.

The 46-year-old actor believes his upcoming movie is about staying true to at least one’s roots.
“It is okay to go to a metropolis for a greater life, however we should always remember our roots. This is what ‘Ghoomketu’ tells us. Lucky are those that realise and return to their roots.
“When you go back to your home, you understand values, emotions, family, and a lot of other things,” Nawazuddin, who’s at the moment in Budhana, stated.
As cinema halls stay closed because of the coronavirus pandemic, “Ghoomketu” is the primary Bollywood movie to launch immediately on an OTT platform.
Sony Pictures Networks and Phantom Films’ film will start streaming from May 22 on ZEE5.
The actor stated whether or not his movies launch on OTT or on the large display it does not make an enormous distinction to him.
“I don’t think it matters for actors, it shouldn’t. An actor’s job is to play their role with utmost honesty and sincerity and then forget about it,” he stated.
“The time is such that one can’t think about theatres. It is important to think about human lives now, their safety is more essential. If they are fit and safe, they will definitely go to the theatre. But as for now OTT is the best platform (for film),” he added.
Pushpendra Nath Mishra, who wrote and directed the Netflix sequence “Taj Mahal 1989”, has directed “Ghoomketu”.
The comedy-drama additionally stars Anurag Kashyap, Raghubir Yadav, Ila Arun, Swanand Kirkire, in addition to cameo appearances by Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, Chitrangda Singh and filmmaker Nikkhil Advani.
